I am in Halifax, visiting
bloobert.
Halifax is full of old houses, lots of them look like I imagine Cape Cod houses to be like, ie clapboard, many different pastel colours, saltbox shape houses.
Other ones have distinctly Victorian stylings, I am from Ontario so Ontario is chock full of old Victorian style red brick houses with gothic pointed attic windows, and white curlicue gingerbread trim on the eaves, and the three window living room windows, and zipper teeth brick detailing on the corners. However the Halifax houses are almost exclusively aluminum siding, clapboard, and: cedar shingles. !!! Have never seen stuff like that. Even when they repair houses, they put more cedar shingles on it, instead of going all aluminum siding crazy on them. It's like in Vancouver, they have the same Gothic Victorian stylings of houses, but all in clapboard instead.
And the downtown old buildings are stone, all types: ironstone, some bluish and pinkish types of stone.
I will have pictures to put up later hopefully.
Mike and I saw a funny dude playing music tonight. It was fun, he was a very joky singer, in a bar.
