As promised, my acoustic cover version of Perfect Way.

Please excuse the general mistakes and quality... improvement will have to wait until the blister is gone from my thumb. But the main point was the fun of the thing, so that might indeed be the final version LMAO

I've learned a lot about how I don't really need to use a capo anymore, ever, if only I can get those barred chords a bit better higher up on the neck. :P

nice job! barre chords can be tricky sometimes esp if you're used to open chords most of the time

I've gotten the hang of the ones that are lower down on the neck, where the frets are further apart, but where they're closer together, it's a whole new ballgame, it turns out. Plus, with my barre-ing finger, I'm not pressing all 6 strings down, just the ones that aren't fretted, and it makes a difference in this case.

But the freedom it provides, to play random chords, is SO going to be worth the practice.

Gah agh that was so great Lorraine I love it so so so much. I really love Perfect Way so much and that was just wonderful I am a dunce but I still find an acoustic version of such a song an amazing thing. All those synthesisers and keyboards and yet you and your guitar got the essence of it perfectly...gah so so great.

On another note I adore the bit of the song where the lyrics go "in times of tenderness and times being so true until such time as I can understand all the things you do." - it flows so well. I am gonna go make that scritti politti icon now...

I'm so excited - the song has been in my head for the past 24 hours or so.

I kind of was cutting corners, lyric-wise, and leaving out notes, in order to hit the chorus on time, eg. I was "giving 'er" on the "I have the perfect way" chords, because that's the part that makes the song.

And I gotta give Green or whoever the credit for the "in times of tenderness" part, they really depart from the regular 3 chords that every pop song has, and I'm just playing what they wrote. :D

I'm looking forward to practicing it more too, I can't wait to pull that one out at a party or open mic night. :D :D :D
