Jul. 20th, 2005 12:25 amWell I saw Bill Frisell tonight, he played some wiggy jazz with his buddies, Steve Paitch was the bass player, and yes that name sounds familiar. Bill's music is: jazz slash fiddle music. It was verrrryyy low energy compared to the bammina bammina type of music like Uzeb that I like. It is lovely and textured, almost a classical music feel. It is a bit like Philip Glass in form, anyhow, in that he takes a little theme, repeats repeats repeats, kind of like a mantra or something, and solos over top. I had a half pack of Skittles at work, and I was ADD-ing like crazy at the show. I was terribly antsy and if it hadn't been $40 to get in, I would have left.
