Mar. 30th, 2005 09:31 pmI was bummed out today at work so when I went home, I detoured and did what many chicks enjoy doing: I went to the mall.
However I did not buy lots of shoes.
I enjoy people watching, and I peeked through the latest fashions to distract myself from my bad mood. I also went to the pet store, and found an unlikely source of consolation: the hamsters in the cages. They were scrabbling up the glass sides of their cages, one mashing in another's face in its efforts to try to get up, even hopping on its back legs trying to make progress. Also I saw a puppy get clocked in the face, when a store attendant slammed the cage door a little harder than I imagine they meant to. Then the puppy sat by the door, waiting for his little cage-mate to return. He looked as lonely as I felt. :(
In happier news, yesterday at my trip to Goodwill, I got a night table that has an art-deco feel to it. It's pretty ancient. That was awesome cause I needed a better night table, and it goes with the antique feel of other items that I have.
