I am typing this from my brand new XP windows clone. Yay! It's a Pentium 4, with windows XP on it. *sigh of relief* And the windows don't take 5 sec to fully draw like they did on my pentiummmm. Though I had to ask for a modem for it, cause... apparently dialup is obsolete.

Though everyone seems to ask why I didn't get a mac, I am tired of the incompatibility between mac things, on the other hand, windows, clunky as it is, seems to behave pretty well even when it's on an ancient machine, in comparison. I was surfing lavalife.com to hopefully find someone to date. The internet explorer on my powerbook 1600 was woefully inadequate for that. Oh, and the OS 9 mac at work, its browser doesn't see the LJ "add comment" pages. O.O AND I couldn't find a version of MSN messenger for my powerbook. AND the mac version of Gaim is for OS X only. Goddamn near everything is. I will have to pay much more to update the mac so I am still putting it off. AND my cellphone won't talk to a mac. This happened to me with keyboards, when they leap too far ahead and get very expensive and update with no backwards compatibility, I say a big hearty EFF YOU to the people who jsut want to make money by making stuff obsolete and selling you new stuff. I would love to get a Mac but for what I want to pay, I can't see it happening. And I dunno, XP is ever so well behaved on the computers at work, it seems kind of dumb to not get XP.

I am getting a bit less interested in John Mayer... he is playing a show in Toronto that I didn't get tickets for... etc. etc... and on mystupidmouth.com there is a thread that first discussed how quick the tickets went, and now the thread has turned to discussion about how to get to the venue... :( I am a wee bit jealous but I'm not sure I want to see a bluesy John Mayer anyhow.

I just don't feel like I fit in anywhere this week. Not on mystupidmouth.com... not at work... but [livejournal.com profile] ashendari was answering my text messages when my car broke down... how cool is that? and [livejournal.com profile] bloobert, that's cool taht you will be getting satellite... but I would have truly relished sending you those rabbit-ears TV antennas. :)

indeed!!!!!! :)

I made a user account, to go with my owner, I guess my computer's less vulnerable if I use the user account for everyday surfing etc. Besides it's cool to switch back and forth like it's some kind of network or something. Anyhow, I guess I install all my programs I wanna use while it's on the user login? Will I be able to access them from the owner login?

What else should I know about?

I realized I want to kind of browse through all the system folders to see where everything is.

As I continue using it, I want to burn all the programs that I install, to a CD, so that it'll be easier to reinstall them when XP does need a reinstall.

*geeking out*

Strange that your OS9 doesn't read the add comments. My old G3 runs on OS9 and I've had no problems. What browser are you using?

it's the one at work, it has iexplorer and I think is os 9.2... also a G3. I saw something about it in the LJ help maintenance section, maybe they fixed it.

My dad drove down, it took 2 hrs, and $14 to fix it. Yay for Dad! A hose that carries coolant... burst like a sausage. I had the cooling system fixed before, so I kinda panicked a bit, but when I opened it and saw, I figured that was the only hose they HADN'T replaced, so I figured that was the extent of it. :D
