My parents are downsizing... downgrading... I dunno what you call it, but they spent the summer in Newfoundland, and are planning on selling the house and moving there next summer. O.O So Mom & Dad will be kinda far away, ie a 3 hour flight away. I already had a discussion with my dad that if they are closer to home, we can take care of them or visit often if their health deteriorates sometime down the road. Nope! Apparently they feel home-care is easier there than in Ontario... maybe because there is lots of unemployment in Newfoundland? Well my kids will be in the same boat I was: not knowing their grandparents really well. Not to mention all the crap I still have to remove from my parents' house, and saying Bye Bye to the house itself.

My friend Sean's parents did that after he moved out, but they sold the family home in the suburbs, bought a condo and moved one city over, to Toronto, and now he's closer to them than he was before.

At least I still will have my routine of going there for church, for the choir. I am Rain Man. Things must not change! ha ha

So today I basically lazed around.

I did discover one cool thing on the guitar (locked fingering some type of 7th chords) and invent another (some kind of bluesy riff thingamajig) so the day was not a total waste.

I had some good intention of going to Erindale Park, and biking around, but instead I did pretty much nothing. I did some tiny wee bit of cleaning up, but nothing astounding.

For the most part I sat on my bed with the cat and knitted, and I did some work on Devin's soundclick cause he doesn't have the interweb at home, it's drumnbass industrial electronic type music. Think Matrix Reloaded soundtrack. There you go. I uploaded all those songs.

Then I went for a walk around the lakeshore area, well not really, you stalkers, I'm just trying to put you off.

I did bump into my ex-boyfriend/brother's friend, and his parents and his I assume GF, in a coffee shop, and we sat and I told them all how my brother's doing; the parents used to work with my brother. So it was all very interesting. They were really the last people I expected on earth to bump into, because the ex-boyfriend/my brother's friend lives in Ottawa, but it's the long weekend, so everyone is visiting. But it was a fun little visit. I hadn't seen them in probably 10 years. Then I had some regretful thoughts on my way home about how I used to dump perfectly good boyfriends because of the one guy I used to like, who eventually married some other chick. Ahhh regrets. But scheisse happens, primarily to me it seems.

Now I am listening to CFRB in one room and BBC on shortwave in the other. I an extra wall clock that I bought at Goodwill cause it was soooo cute, I have set it to UTC time because it was just... time. I mean, that I am listening to shortwave enough now that it was time to have a clock on UTC just to keep my sanity.
