Oct. 26th, 2004 11:04 pmI played at an open stage night tonight and it was a hoot. I used to work at a sports radio station. Through that I discovered that there is no typical sports fan. Similarly, I was reminded that there is no typical musician either. Most people were pretty good. There were heartfelt, cheeky, goofy and bizarre songs sung. I sang my own "Lies" and I sang also Feist's "Mushaboom." I also played my geetar with my not-even-six-month-old guitar skills. On my way home in the car I was already plotting which songs I would sing next week. I am on a not-quite-so-late shift again which makes it easier to do. I was pretty nervous singing but I refrained from apologizing for, and therefore bringing attention to my guitar skills, and though I goofed up a bit, it was no worse than the goofups the other musicians did. It was a good atmosphere.
