kamomilWell yesterday had 2 phases:
Went to Newmarket for this church music seminar thingy. A dude who used to do musical theatre (actually for some big name things, Phantom etc) who became a priest (hah!) was giving a talk on how to sing properly. The majority of people there were women aged 30-60, either of the caucasian or asian variety. I sat between a lady from our choir, and a grey-bearded fellow with dirty pants and velcro runners who kept bumping me with his elbow when we were doing singing exercises.
Then I went to a party, a housewarming kind of party thrown by a guy at work. It was in an aged Victorian house, the kind that have original woodwork details, are painted over with 28349287 coats of paint and very narrow. I love old houses. Later on we watched Psycho on CBC with the sound down, together with some trancy music from Mitchell Akiyama, a guy from Montreal, played off the household music server. That music continued till she got killed, then iTunes went over to some Fatboy Slim. A good time was had by all. There were just enough people, not so many that the social groups get splintered, and enough to keep the conversation lively.
