I am having fun designing & planning my CDs & packaging. I bought a local indie artist's CD, and it is a Ridata unbranded CD, ever so cool! The info is stamped on with ink, ie with an old-school rubber stamp. I am so copying that idea, I don't like the idea of paper labels that might peel off. I think the Ridata CDs are inkjet-printable, but the best part is there is no huge logo to interfere with my own labelling.
I have found out a lot about how to get good colour xeroxing done from a Photoshop file. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] ashendari! I made up a little mockup CD jewel case liner and insert, I am still fine-tuning my design.
I also have made up a database of community radio stations across Canada, fired up Filemaker Pro and... I almost liked fiddling with Filemaker best of all. I have a couple of festivals in my database too, literally two: I need to practice my music way more before I can consider myself a headlining act. However there is one festival that has an open mic. Scores!

I severely enjoyed making databases in Hypercard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HyperCard), which I will be very sad when I finally have a computer that is too new to run it. It handles dates better than Filemaker, well for one particular thing I was doing anyhow. I think that Macromedia Director stole a lot of its scripting language from Hypercard.
