I had a day off today. I am really relishing these lately because I never seem to get my housework done, and I have several other crafty tasks to tackle. I am finding that not even lists are helping me these days, I like being able to think of an errand randomly, then get the hell out and get it done, which is not possible before or after work, on days that I do work.

While puttering around, cleaning up, I found my paperwork to get bloodwork done, from when I had my physical several weeks back, and so I decided to go in today, as I had been too disorganized to eat yet at that point. So I went in, bringing a little packed lunch, as it was 1pm. It wasn't too traumatic, I didn't actually faint but I did get light-headed. That happens to me routinely when they take blood though.

I went to Long & Mcquade and got some lemon oil, and some guitar picks, and they have a bigger variety of everything, so I think I will just go the extra kms there next time I need something.

I went to Goodwill, and dropped off more than I bought. LOL LOL LOL Goodwill is going to see a lot of me in the coming week, I am on a purging binge around this joint. I am tired of living like a student still, it is time for some of this crap free furniture to GO! I have to re-assess what it is I need (apparently not 2 armchairs) and just get rid of what I don't use. I do like Ikea's birch wood finish furniture, and I have some of it now, but I like to buy As Is pieces and create my own creations, as some Ikea stuff is a little rickety. I am trying to keep my apartment in a specific theme so that it doesn't look like a lawn sale.

I had a nap before dinnertime. I guess the combo of not eating a lot plus getting blood taken really knocked me out. I made a semi-okay dinner, then msn'ed [livejournal.com profile] ashendari and as a result, I am going to an SCA event sometime soon. Yay for getting off my ass, or having someone get me off my ass. Yay. I am far too complacent. Since the new year there is plenty I simply don't care about.

We got a new organ at the church I play music at. I use the term "new" quite loosely. We had an older organ, no pipes of course, from the 50s or 60s, it had drawbars, which meant that I could customize the sound exactly the way I wanted. It developed a problem that would be $500 to fix, so we got a different one. Instead of cool drawbars, the new organ has buttons that you can just select a sound portion, on or off, not nearly the customization that drawbars allow, plus it has cheesy rhythms. eeesh. New motivation to learn fingerpicking, I guess. The only fingerpicking I will know will be church music. LOL I wish they had asked me, I would have voted for a modern keyboard with piano sounds as well as organ, then we could do piano or guitar and therefore sound more modern. Time to haul the DX7 up the teeny staircase.
