Fourth Sunday of Advent, Year A
I like advent music, it's the christmas music that hasn't been muzaked to death. It reminds me of christmases of my childhood.
Today I was too pooped to go to a family thing. I was so tired, in fact, that I forgot which road to take to my cousin's house. My choices were 3 roads, all at a similar area that you exit the QEW, and I drove 20 km up 2 roads, both the wrong streets. I remembered the name of the correct street as I began heading home.
In the new year we will start singing a new gloria. I am implementing the change because the old one plods along and has been sung ever since our family moved there some 15-odd years ago. Time for it to go. The new one is more modern-sounding, without being twee or cloying. I am actually pretty pumped for it; the choir doesn't quite know the new one off by heart yet, but I am sticking to my guns, so we shall see how we bumble along Jan. 8 or whenever we start singing it again.
