To me, it represents the best era of Frank (well, this and Joe's Garage). Ike Willis, Patrick O'Hearn, Terry Bozzio and Tommy Mars, with Warren Cucurullo and Vinnie Colaiuta just around the corner.
As much as I enjoyed the early 80s band that included Steve Vai, I still think that he never had a band that came close to these guys until the ill-fated "Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life".
He was just SO brilliant. I wish that Dweezil's output was even a fraction as frequent, because I also love his stuff.
